The Weber State Wildcats start at the top with a pretty big name head coach in John L. Smith- SCREEEEEECH! That’s now former Weber State Wildcat head coach John L. Smith. With the news that Smith is leaving to replace Bobby Petrino at Arkansas, The Wildcats are left in a tough position. What had looked to be a promising outlook for 2012, looks rather murky now. Though, can you really blame him seriously? $850K buys a lot of happiness; especially for the spouse. Nevertheless, Weber State will sojourn on, and in all likelihood, be very strong on the D2 side as they have been the last five years. The running game and defense will be catalysts to a productive season in the win column.
Offense – The offense begins with junior quarterback Jordan Adamczyk as the ring leader of this team that runs to set up the passing attack. He has been flashy at times in spring practices, but at the spring game threw 2 interceptions. The Wildcats performed well on the ground in the spring game as the trio of CJ Tuckett, Josh Booker, and Barrinton Collins combined for 228 rushing yards.
Defensive – Roman Valenzuela and Trevor Pletcher will be the go-to leaders on this inexperienced side of the ball. This team will depend on controlling time of possession on the offensive side of the ball and will need to clean up things on both sides of the ball during fall camp.
