BYU Player Profile – James Lark

   James Lark

   Position: Quarterback

   Class: Senior

   Height:  6’2″  Weight: 200

   Hometown: St. George, Utah

James Lark is your back up quarterback this year Cougar fans.  This former 3A Utah MVP dominated at Pine View High School in St George and joined the Cougars in 2006 before departing on a mission to Russia.  Despite being recruited by many big PAC 10 schools, Lark chose BYU.  He has been the third string behind the likes of John Beck, Max Hall, freshman hotshot Jake Heaps, and now senior starter Riley Nelson.  He said that this isn’t how he imagined his career going, but he’s learned a lot over his time at BYU.  I know a lot of us are clamoring for Taysom Hill to be named the back up to Nelson, but I have to admit I won’t be too concerned if Lark is the guy who gets the job when Nelson inevitably misses time this season.
