Height: 6’3”  Weight: 235

Hometown: Reno, Nevada

KVN doesn’t need much in the way of introduction.  There aren’t many Cougar fans who would say he isn’t the #1 guy they will be watching in 2012, and if he isn’t #1, he’s #2 behind Cody Hoffman.  KVN is a 2 year letterman as an incoming junior with 103 tackles (22.5 TFL), 9 sacks, 3 INT, 5 forced fumbles with 2 recoveries, and 1 for a TD (against Ole Miss in 2011).  He is the only player in FBS in 2011 to record a stat in each of the following categories: tackle, tackle for loss, sack, INT, pass breakup, QB hurry, fumble recovery, forced fumble, blocked kick, and touchdown.

The defense is going to be solid this season and KVN is a main reason why.  With him coming off the weak side play after play, he is going to create chaos and havoc on every down and require opposing offenses to account for him when he is on the field.  He may not be the outspoken leader of this team, but as KVN goes, so will go the Cougar defense in 2012.
